MY PERSONAL WHY

If you've read my thoughts on politics, you've probably seen my bell curve analogy and why I felt called to step into this race politically.

But the truth is, I'm running for something much bigger than politics.

 

I'm running for my kids.

​

Right now they're 11 and 9. Before I know it, they'll be graduating, starting careers, maybe buying their first homes, and hopefully building lives right here in Colorado. I want them to have that opportunity. I don't want them to feel like they have to leave the state they grew up in because it's become too expensive or because we failed to invest in the things that make a community thrive.

I'm also running because I want my husband and I to be able to grow older here. This is home. We love our neighborhood. We love Colorado Springs. We've built friendships here, raised our family here, and put down roots here. I want this to be the place where we watch our kids become adults, where our future grandkids come to visit, and where we can continue giving back to the community that has given us so much.

I don't believe we're just borrowing this community from the people who came before us. I think we're borrowing it from the next generation. My job is to leave it a little better than I found it.

​

That means investing in good schools, planning responsibly for growth, tackling the rising cost of living, and making sure Colorado remains a place where working families can build a life instead of just getting by.

None of that happens from the sidelines.

​

It happens when ordinary people decide to get involved, listen to one another, and do the work. That's what I'm trying to do. I'm not running because I think I have all the answers. I'm running because I care deeply about this community, and I believe it's worth showing up for.
